This year the Waltham Arts Council is celebrating our 34th year anniversary. At our Directors meeting this past January, we spent some time reflecting on the past several years. We are very happy about the quality of our Summer Concerts. In our reflection we realized that we are an organization that is soley know for these summer concerts. When in fact, we also sponsor a Christmas Sing-A-Long at Waltham City Hall, provide an annual scholarship to a worthy Waltham High School student who pursues a career in the Arts and sponsor Spring and Fall art classes for all interested adults.

Reflection on the past pushed us to look to the future. In doing so, we will be expanding our programs and involvement in the community. We have developped a Strategic Planning Committee that has generated many new ideas that we are implementing. We have established a Publicity Committee, who is now in the process of maintaining our website and generating press releases regarding all of our upcoming events. We have also expanede our Membership Committee; this will allow us to reach out to more people, increase awareness and our volunteer base.

All this said, we cannot continue to provide these quality programs without your help. We ask for your continued membership pledge. We also request that you consider being a volunteer at one of our events. We welcome anyone who would be interested in joining any one of our committees. Your input is very important to us. When the opportunity presents itself, you may also become a Director!
